Welcome! Etta Mae Gourmet is a home-based business (officially known as a “cottage food operation”) located in Downtown Riverside, California. I specialize in making homemade jams & preserves using seasonal, locally grown fruits. All of my jams are slow cooked in small batches for a truer fruit flavor. No artificial sweeteners or preservatives are used!
I have enjoyed canning my own jams, sauces and pickles for several years and giving them as gifts to family and friends. And now I can call them “award-winning” jams too! Several of my jams and preserves placed at the 2014 California State Fair, including a 1st place for Tropical Citrus Jam. At the 2014 Orange County State Fair, my Strawberry Preserves with Balsamic Vinegar won 1st place in its class and my Orange Vanilla Jam received a special Judge’s Award and 2nd place. Recently, at the 2014 Southern California Fair at the Perris Fairgrounds, four of my jams won 1st place, including Orange Marmalade, Grape, Rosemary Plum and Apricot Jams. My jamming has inspired a few original recipes such as Bananas Foster and Butternut Squash Jam.
With the encouragement of friends and family, I launched Etta Mae Gourmet last year and hope to someday open a small storefront in the community. My inspiration (and the business name) come from my grandmother, Etta Mae, a wonderful cook who made strawberry jam and orange marmalade every year.
Etta Mae Gourmet jams were first made available in the Riverside Food Cooperative’s monthly crop box subscription. Etta Mae Gourmet also makes granola, infused sugar and other seasonal products like pumpkin bread and gingerbread. Our products can be found in the California Citrus State Historic Park Museum Gift Shop and the Mission Galleria.
Jams and preserves make a tasteful gift for any occasion. And if you’re looking for a unique party favor, Etta Mae Gourmet can make small, personalized jars for your next special event. Find Etta Mae Gourmet on Facebook to see what’s cooking in the kitchen.
Have a jam-tastic day!
